Beliefs

  • All students will have access to a school counselor who advocates for their academic, career and social/emotional needs
  • All students deserve to be provided district, school and community services and treatment that is equitable
  • Circumstances of birth, socioeconomic status, language proficiency, or disability are not barriers to learning yet will be considered in the planning and implementation of the school counseling program
  • Students, parents, counselors, teachers, support staff, principals, superintendent, and board members are all collectively and individually responsible for the success of each of our students
  • All students should feel valued so that they feel confident in their own potential and abilities
  • Each student has the right to safe and nurturing high quality instructional practices and targeted and monitored interventions if needed
